involves using your own blood. It is thought that the natural healing
factors in the blood helps regeneration of the knee.
Platelets circulate through the blood and are critical for blood
clotting. Platelets and the liquid plasma portion of the blood contain
many factors that are essential for the cell recruitment, multiplication
and specialization required for healing. PRP is given through and
injection directly to the injured are of bone or soft tissue, such as
tendon and ligament.
After the injection, the doctor will instruct you to avoid exercise for a
short period of time before beginning rehab or exercise treatment.
